🇬🇧 #118 | "Riding an outstanding horse" with Richard Vogel, guest of I am an Equestrian, Podcast
Description
🔥 Equita Lyon was a real challenge for us this year. As you heard in the introduction to this episode, we literally played a game of tetris to manage all our missions, including the one we always hold as a priority: recording new episodes for the podcast. But it's not always easy, and often choices have to be made. And, as you know, choosing also means giving up.
🎙️We've recorded 6 episodes in total, and among this selection of guests, we really wanted to be able to offer you a new discussion with an international rider 🇩🇪.
And if we could only meet one, then here he is: Richard Vogel.
🗣️ We recorded this episode on Saturday evening in the press room. We took the time to wrap this 50-minute conversation up with the man who got the whole arena completely crazy in Geneva last year, to the rhythm of an insane jump-off. But behind this performance, behind his selection for the Olympic Games at just 27 years of age, behind the phenomenal combination he forms with United Touch, lies the portrait of a great ambitious rider.
Like Edward Levy and Henrik Von Eckermann, who have also been behind our microphone, Richard cut his teeth with Ludger Beerbaum. At the age of 21, he took the gamble of settling down and giving his ambition a chance. 💪🏼
We find him 6 years later. On this evening, he's ranked 10th in the world, still in doubt as to whether he'll start in the Top Ten, just a couple of hours before his victory in the Grand Prix World Cup 🏆. Looks like we had a sixth sense this weekend... 🎯
